These terms govern this website (epiphanistudios.com), your studio account at account.epiphanistudios.com, and the Epiphani apps, all from Epiphani Studios LLC ("Epiphani Studios," "we," "us"). By using the site, the account platform, or an Epiphani app, you agree to these terms.
One studio account carries every Epiphani license you own. You sign in with Google or a passkey; keep access to that sign-in method secure, since it is the key to your library. Your licenses are attached to your email address, so use the same email at checkout and at sign-in to keep everything in one place.
Purchases are processed by Polar (polar.sh) as merchant of record, and the transaction itself is also governed by Polar's checkout terms. Each app's listing on this site states its price and whether it is a one-time purchase or a yearly subscription:
If a purchase goes wrong, or you want to ask about a refund, email hello@epiphani.studio and we will make it right with the merchant of record. A refunded purchase ends the corresponding license.
Personal, Family, Company, and Enterprise memberships are paid one year at a time, in advance. Each includes every Epiphani app for the people it covers: you, for Personal; up to six people in your household, for Family; and up to 25 people in your company, for Company and Enterprise. You renew each year yourself. Renewing within 30 days after your anniversary keeps the price you joined at, and your unused Build Credits carry on as if you had renewed on time. Your price holds for as long as you keep renewing and we continue to offer that membership.
Build Credits. Each membership year includes Build Credits: 5 for Personal, 10 for Family, 30 for Company, and 125 for Enterprise. Build Credits measure build work. You use them on features and apps we quote for you at our published rates: a typical new feature is 1 Build Credit (3 for Company and Enterprise), and a typical new app is 10 (50 for Company and Enterprise); larger work is quoted at more. A build uses its credits when you accept our quote, and accepting a quote before your credits expire reserves them for that build. If a build you accepted is not delivered, its credits return to you. Credits from one membership year stay usable through the next year, and the oldest are used first. We choose which requests we build. Build Credits are a benefit of your membership: they have no cash value, cannot be sold or transferred, and end when your membership ends.
Founding members. Members who join through a founding offer receive double the Build Credits in their first year. The extra credits are promotional and expire at the end of that first membership year.
Family gift. Each Family membership year includes one gifted year of Epiphani One, our every-app plan for one person, for someone outside your household. Ask us during your membership year, and we will send it.
Membership refunds. You can cancel within 30 days of paying for a membership year and get a full refund, as long as you have not accepted a quote during that year. After that, your membership runs to the end of the year you paid for.
A license is for your own use, on your own devices, under your own account. Do not share, resell, or redistribute license keys or account access. We may revoke a license that was refunded, obtained fraudulently, or used in violation of these terms.
When you ask for a feature or an app, we decide whether to build it into an Epiphani product for every customer. If we do, it becomes part of that product. We credit you by name only if you ask us to.
A private build is one we deliver to you alone under a separate written quote. For a private build, Epiphani Studios keeps ownership of the code. You receive a perpetual, worldwide license to use, run, and adapt what we deliver for your own personal, household, or internal business use. You may not resell it or license it to others. The quote states what we deliver, who may use it, and any hosting or upkeep.
What you send us for a build, including your data, documents, and confidential material, stays yours. We use it only to build and support your work.
Everything you create in an Epiphani app, including recordings, transcripts, notes, documents, and photos, belongs to you. Our apps are built on-device first, so keeping your own backups of anything important is your responsibility. You are responsible for using the apps lawfully, including obtaining any consent the law requires before recording other people.
Apps marked early access, and any TestFlight or beta builds, are still being finished. They may contain bugs and may change at any time.
Do not use the site, the account platform, or the apps to break the law, infringe others' rights, or interfere with the services that power them.
The site, the account platform, and the apps are provided "as is," without warranties. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the product involved, and we are not liable for lost data or indirect damages.
If these terms change, we will update this page and the date above. Continuing to use the site, your account, or the apps after a change means you accept the updated terms.
